Nisha Vasudevan is an award-winning writer-director, illustrator and animator who most recently made it to the Top 30 shortlist for the Cannes Lion See It Be It programme in 2020. She works across mixed-media formats to create a quirky narrative style. She is currently ECD at Supari Studios and oversees all creative endeavours there.
Nisha has an MA in Digital Documentary and is a self-taught animator. At present her focus is largely on strategising for and creating branded content in the digital space - but in the past she has run a boutique agency called The Whimnasium where she focused on end-to-end creative solutions; she also has television experience where she has won awards for her promo work.
Her most recent work includes Breaking New Ground: The Story Of India's Dance Revolution (an exploration of India's breaking scene in 40 minutes) and This Is My Hood (a non-fiction series that travels to neighbourhoods across Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, and tells the stories of people who keep the hip-hop scene in India alive). She is also co-creator of Apocalipstick: The Podcast At The End Of The World, which she co-writes and performs in.
Nisha's illustration work has won Behance Appreciation Awards and she has also been featured in several publications including Rolling Stone, Homegrown, Buzzfeed and Kyoorius.
